Vashishta Gufa Cave Visit
About This Activity
Visit Vashishta Gufa, a sacred meditation cave where the great sage Vashishta (Guru of Lord Rama) is believed to have meditated thousands of years ago. Located 16 km from Rishikesh on the banks of the Ganges, this serene cave is surrounded by ancient banyan trees and offers a deeply spiritual atmosphere. According to legend, after the tragic death of his sons, Sage Vashishta attempted to end his life in the Ganges, but the holy river refused to let him drown, carrying him safely to shore. The cave houses a small Shiva lingam and serves as a meditation center. The natural setting with the river flowing nearby and mountain views creates a perfect environment for contemplation and spiritual practice. Open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily.
